Welcome to Blue Mountain Ranch, located midway between Gunnison and Montrose Colorado. Blue Mountain Ranch is 492 acres of mountain property paradise with a 2,400 square foot log home. This winter wonderland is situated only an hour and a half from Crested Butte and Telluride Ski Resorts. It is accessed by Alpine Plateau Road, which is maintained year round. Blue Mountain Ranch is also located in close proximity to Arrowhead Inn, which maintains an intricate cross country ski and groomed snow mobile trail system that leads to thousands of acres in National Forest. The old stock drive that runs by this property all the way to the Wilderness Area can be traveled by foot, horse, snowmobile, or ATV. In the summer, the melted snow bounds over 2 miles of the East Fork of Little Blue Creek, running the entire length of the property and is full of Brooke Trout and Native Cut Throat. Beaver ponds and pools make for an incredible fish habitat. For the fishing enthusiast, a quick, twenty minute drive leads to Blue Mesa Reservoir, which is the largest lake in Colorado and home of the state record Lake Trout. There are several springs on the property including a large adjudicated spring that runs approximately .4 cubic feet per second. All of this water serves as great watering holes for big game animals. Blue Mountain Ranch is located in game unit 66; a limited draw trophy area and the most sought after deer hunting in the state. The owner of this property has been entitled to several land owner elk and deer vouchers annually. Record book elk and deer roam this property along with turkey, bear, mountain lion, coyote, moose, and grouse. After a fabulous day in the outdoors, one may unwind by one of the two rock fire places, or pull up to the bar for a relaxing drink. The unique bar top curves under the log stairway and is made from a fallen tree that was found on the property. This warm mountain haven is complete with in floor heat, low-voltage lighting system, and a chef’s kitchen. The three bedrooms each overlook a large stocked pond and have unbelievable views. Outside the cabin are three out buildings including a horse barn and corral. The cabin is also landscaped with Aspen, Pines, large boulders, and a rock stairway leading to a massive fire pit. Toasting marshmallows with the lights of the cabin and the moon reflecting off of the pond below is just one of the many reasons this property is a rare find.
