The farm land in this area consists of sandy loam soil. Sandy loam soil is considered ideal for growing crops. Many of the crops that are grown successfully in this area include: field and sweet corn, wheat, oats, cotton, grain sorghum, soybeans, peanuts and vegetable crops.

Presently, there are three irrigated fields on the farm. There is a 60 acre field with a Valley Pivot with an electric motor. This particular field produced 235 bushels of corn per acre in 2008. The 160 acre field has a Zymattic pivot with an electric motor. This field produced 210 bushels of corn per acre in 2008. The 225 acre field has a Valley pivot with an electric motor. This field produced 190 bushels of corn per acre in 2008.

The water supply for these 3 systems comes from the Floridian Aquifer through three 12 inch wells. The irrigation systems are all operated by electric motors with three phase current. These systems pump approximately 1,200 gallons of water per minute. The systems are also equipped with low pressure sprinklers.

Currently, there are 995 acres on the property that is tillable farm land. Well permits are available in this area in order to add more pivots and increase the total acreage of irrigated crop land.
